Agartala, 10th June 2026: Setting a remarkable example of social responsibility alongside their daily law enforcement duties, the Dhalai District Police on Wednesday organized a special ‘Swachh Bharat’ cleanliness drive at the district headquarters in Ambassa.
The initiative saw active participation from senior police officials and personnel who gathered early in the morning to clean up major public spaces and crowded areas across the town. As part of the drive, the police team swept and cleared garbage from the Ambassa Dashamighat ground, the local motor stand, and the main market area.
Several top police officials led the campaign from the front, including Additional Superintendent of Police Uttam Banik, Deputy Commandant (DAR) Tohitan Tripura, DSP Sabir Ahmed, and ROI Partha Munda, alongside numerous other officers and staff.
Addressing reporters during the drive, Additional Superintendent of Police Uttam Banik highlighted the core objective behind the initiative, emphasizing that environmental cleanliness is a shared civic duty.
“Keeping our surroundings clean is the civic responsibility of each and every citizen. The Dhalai District Police has taken up this special initiative today precisely to spread this message of social awareness among the general public,” Banik said.
Local residents and conscious citizens of Ambassa have widely appreciated and praised the initiative. Community members noted that it is deeply encouraging to see the district police step up for environmental and social causes while simultaneously managing demanding, high-pressure responsibilities like maintaining law and order and curbing crime.
