EVMs dispatched under tight security ahead of ADC polls at Kanchanpur

Agartala, 11th April 2026:   With the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections in Kanchanpur subdivision, the administration has completed all necessary preparations. The crucial polls are scheduled to be held tomorrow, April 12.

To ensure free and peaceful voting, Returning Officer Ashish Biswas has taken comprehensive measures for Seat No. 1 Damchhara–Jampui and Seat No. 3 Dasda–Kanchanpur constituencies. On Saturday, polling officials departed with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) from the premises of Kanchanpur Higher Secondary School under strict security arrangements. The process was carried out under the supervision of the administration and close monitoring by security forces.

According to officials, a total of 103 polling stations have been set up across the two constituencies, which together have 85,933 registered voters. Polling will begin at 7 a.m. tomorrow, with enthusiasm already visible among the electorate.
