Fifth day of Tripura Budget session begins without Opposition

Agartala, 27th March 2025: The fifth day of the Budget session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly commenced on Thursday in the absence of the principal opposition party, CPIM. 

On Wednesday, CPIM announced its decision to boycott the entire Budget session, accusing Speaker Biswabandhu Sen of misusing his authority and not adhering to Assembly rules and procedures. 

The Budget session for the fiscal year 2025-26 began on March 21 and is scheduled to continue until April 1. 

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha urged the opposition to reconsider their stance and participate in the proceedings.
