Agartala, 16th November 2024 : Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy along with a delegation visited Gomati District Hospital at Tepania in Udaipur to address long-standing complaints about the hospital’s services. The visit aimed to assess the situation and plan improvements for the hospital, which serves patients from South district, Sepahijala district, Gandacherra sub-division and Gomati districts.
The delegation included Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Debal Debroy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairman Shital Chandra Majumdar, Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, Director of the Health Department and Gomati District Hospital Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kamal Reang among other officials.
After touring various wards of the hospital, the delegation was briefed on the issues faced by patients and their families. “There have been some complaints about the services of Gomati District Hospital for a long time. The state government will take immediate initiatives to solve these problems,” Minister Singha Roy told media personnel.
He emphasized the importance of improving the hospital’s services, noting that many patients face difficulties due to the poor condition of the wards. “A lot of patients from South District, Sepahijala, Gandachhara, and Gomati districts come to this hospital. Sometimes they face many difficulties, and the wards are not in good condition. Today’s delegation has come to visit Gomati District Hospital with the aim of getting these services properly done as soon as possible so that the patients and their families can receive the care they need,” he added.
The minister also highlighted the state government’s broader plan to improve all district hospitals. “If the services are provided properly in the district hospitals, then some patients will be diverted to GB Hospital in Agartala,” he mentioned.
Following the visit to Gomati District Hospital, the delegation proceeded to inspect Tripura Sundari Sub-Divisional Hospital. The state government is committed to ensuring that all district hospitals provide adequate services to meet the needs of the patients and their families. The visit has raised hopes among the local community for better healthcare services in the near future.
