Agartala, 21st April 2025: Gomati District Hospital witnessed a distressing situation last night and this morning as torrential rain led to severe flooding within its premises, leaving patients and their families in anguish. The inundation forced individuals, including doctors, nurses, staff, and patients, to navigate through waterlogged corridors for extended periods, raising serious concerns about the hospital’s preparedness.
Amidst the chaos, the hospital’s sanitation conditions came under scrutiny. Bathrooms remained unclean, and patients in the surgery department endured foul-smelling surroundings. Adding to their woes, complaints emerged about the water supplied at the hospital being unfit for consumption, compelling patients and their families to purchase bottled water from various brands.
The silence from hospital authorities has sparked frustration and calls for immediate action. Patients and their families are anxiously awaiting steps to address the crisis, including improving cleanliness, providing potable water, and ensuring the hospital infrastructure can withstand such situations in the future.
