Agartala, 10th December 2024:   A heated situation has emerged in Dharmanagar due to internal conflicts within the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS). Former BMS North Tripura district president Subrata Rudra Pal has accused Asim Datta and oil tanker leaders Biresh and Anup, along with his brother Shankar Rudrapal of conspiring to exploit Shankar’s family problems. Rudra Pal made these allegations during a press conference on Tuesday, adding that there is also a plot to tarnish the image of Dharmanagar MLA Biswa Bandhu Sen.

“Asim Dutta, Biresh and Anup along with my brother Shankar Rudra Pal are conspiring to take advantage of Shankar’s family issues. They are plotting to embezzle lakhs of rupees from oil tankers and defame the BMS leadership through phone calls,” Rudra Pal stated.

He further claimed that workers are being misled by threats, and there is an attempt to create division between the workers and employees of BMS. “There is a conspiracy to tarnish the image of Dharmanagar MLA Biswa Bandhu Sen,” he alleged.

Rudra Pal also pointed out that Biresh and Anup had campaigned for CPIM candidate Bijita Nath before the 2023 assembly elections indicating their current political shift. “They are working to tarnish the image of BMS,” he said.

The press conference was attended by Tripura e-Rickshaw Mazdoor Sangha President Prabir Ghosh and other BMS workers. Goura Nath, one of the attendees alleged that Asim Datta called him around 1 am ordered him to go to Agartala and threatened to complain to the central leadership against MLA Biswa Bandhu Sen.

Political analysts believe that this incident could significantly impact the politics and labor movement in North Tripura. The allegations and internal strife within BMS have raised concerns about the stability and unity of the organization in the region.
