Agartala, 12th March 2025: The Tripura Government has approved the recruitment of 153 personnel across two key departments, aiming to strengthen the state’s education and food distribution sectors. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting, after which Tourism Minister and Cabinet Spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury announced the details at a press conference.
According to Chowdhury, 118 Computer Science teachers will be recruited for Vidyajoti Schools under the Education Department through a written examination. A B.Ed degree will be mandatory for candidates applying for the position. Additionally, 35 Senior Store Guards will be appointed in the Food Department to enhance supply chain management and security in ration distribution.
Meanwhile, the Minister strongly rebutted allegations raised by Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman regarding irregularities in ration distribution at fair price shops. He accused Barman of misleading the public without verifying facts and dismissed the claims as baseless.
Chowdhury also highlighted the BJP-led Tripura government’s initiative of providing free sugar, flour, and semolina to approximately 9 lakh ration card holders during Durga Puja. He pointed out that no Congress-ruled state in the country had implemented a similar welfare measure.
Furthermore, he accused the Congress of attempting to mislead people through recent political rallies, asserting that the party has lost relevance in the state. “For this very reason, the people of Tripura have bid farewell to the Congress forever,” he stated. With the upcoming recruitment drive, the government aims to boost employment opportunities while strengthening essential public services.
