Agartala, 24th October 2024:  The Jatrapur police station staff has made significant strides in combating human trafficking, arresting five individuals including the mastermind behind the operation. This breakthrough has caused considerable excitement in the region, with local residents praising the efforts of law enforcement.

Speaking about the case, Jatrapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Subrata Debnath stated, “The mystery surrounding this incident runs deep, but we have arrested five individuals so far. In the interest of the ongoing investigation, it’s not possible to reveal more details at this time.” He confirmed that one of the key arrests was made in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday, October 23. The operation led to the capture of 24-year-old Swapna Akhtar, who hails from Munda, Bangladesh.

According to the OC, “We arrested four of the accused and produced them in court on Thursday. However, the main orchestrator of the human trafficking operation, Abul Kalam, will be handed over to the court tomorrow.” The suspects include two Bangladeshi nationals, Miss Ahmed (20) from Dhaka and Riya Akhtar from Narsingdi, along with Ayesha Begum from the local border village of Kali Krishnanagar.

The arrests have sent ripples through the community, with residents commending the police for their vigilance. “This is a victory for the people, and we’re grateful to the police for their swift action,” said a local source. Many attribute this success to the leadership of OC Subrata Debnath, whose decisive actions are seen as instrumental in cracking the case. As the investigation progresses, the public awaits further details about the deepening mystery surrounding the human trafficking network.
