Agartala, 14th August 2024:  The leader of the opposition Jitendra Chaudhury on Wednesday alleged a conspiracy involving not only the main accused but also a police officer and a doctor in the murder of teacher Abhijit Dey. Speaking to the family of the deceased, Chowdhury claimed, “Abhijit was beaten and seriously injured but was taken to court without treatment, leading to his death.”

Chaudhury, who is also the CPIM state secretary visited the house of the deceased teacher on Wednesday. He stated, “This murder was completely planned. Those who committed this incident are anti-social elements. The main accused even used his daughter as a tool in this conspiracy.”

The opposition leader further revealed that a ransom of Rs 30 lakh was demanded before the murder. “After talking to the family members, it became clear that this was a deliberate act,” he said.

Chaudhury strongly condemned the brutal murder and called for swift action. “Those involved in this incident who have not yet been arrested should be quickly apprehended and given exemplary punishment,” he demanded. He also accused the police and hospital doctors of being complicit. “The police officer in charge took him to the hospital, but no treatment was provided. He was taken to court the next day,” Chaudhury alleged.

He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation. “All these issues need to be properly investigated,” he insisted. Later, Chaudhury met with the District Superintendent of Police, drawing attention to the matter and demanding a fair investigation. “Conduct a fair investigation and arrest all those involved in this incident and bring them to court,” he urged.
