Agartala, 18th July 2025:   Tensions escalated outside the Tripura Chief Minister’s residence today as a group of job aspirants launched a demonstration demanding immediate release of the 2022 STGT (Selection Test for Graduate Teachers) examination results. The protest, led by candidates who had successfully cleared the exam three years ago, was later dispersed by police, who detained several individuals.

According to eyewitness accounts, the protesters, many of whom are unemployed youth, alleged that despite sitting for the examination in 2022, the results have yet to be announced as of mid-2025. They have staged multiple sit-ins over the past months, urging the authorities to expedite the recruitment process.

Today, the demonstrators gathered outside the Chief Minister’s official residence, reiterating their demand for publication of the pending results. They expressed frustration over a fresh notification recently issued for the STGT exam, arguing that many of the original candidates have now surpassed the eligible age limit and would no longer be able to reapply.

“The Education Department conducted the exam three years ago. Why are the results still not published? We deserve answers and action,” said one of the protesters.

The aspirants have called for urgent intervention by the government to release the 2022 STGT results and initiate the long-delayed recruitment process, citing years of uncertainty and growing disillusionment.
