Agartala, 13th March 2026: Kalyanpur police carried out a successful anti-liquor operation at Mohorchhara market, seizing a significant stock of foreign liquor and arresting two individuals on the spot.
The raid was led by Sub-Inspector Anjan Debbarma and WASI Himani Debbarma, who confirmed that multiple branded bottles of foreign liquor were recovered during the drive.
Authorities have registered cases against the accused under Section 69 of the Tripura Excise Act, while prosecution reports under Section 45 are being prepared. Police officials emphasized that similar crackdowns on illegal liquor trade will be intensified in the coming days.
Local residents have welcomed the move, describing it as a decisive step towards curbing illicit liquor activities and safeguarding the community from unlawful trade.
