Agartala, November 03: Venuvan Buddha Vihara Agartala going to organize the Maha Kathina Chivara Dana the 4th & 5th of November 2023 at Venuvan Buddha Vihara, Agartala. Addressing a press conference Ven. Khemachara Mahathero said Kathina Chivara Dana is considered to be a very special occasion to make merits as it comes only once in a year and that too for one month only after the end of Vassa /varsavas (rainy retreat).
“During the varssäväsa, the monks and devotees strictly observe, with complete dedication and right effort to meditation, chanting, teaching and learning of Dhamma, thereby leading to purification of mind, elevation of moral standards, transformation of mind, paving the way to the bliss of Nibbana. On this day, you can undertake the precepts (Sila), listen to Dhamma talks and celebrate the day by offering Dana, such as robes, alms, and other requisites, to express gratitude to the Sangha and seek their blessings for your peace, happiness and wellbeing”, he said. He further said that on 4th November the program will be inaugurated by Dr Vishal Kumar, DM west a, Ven. Dr. Dhammapiya, Secretary General, International Buddhist Confederation, New Delhi and Sroto Ranjan Khisa, Convener of Maha Kathina Chivara
