Major boost for South Tripura farmers: 60 mini-tractors, 85 spray machines distributed at Satchand RD Block

Agartala, 23rd April 2025: In a significant push towards agricultural modernization and farmer welfare, the Dakshin Tripura Zilla Parishad in collaboration with the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare department distributed 60 mini tractors and 85 modern spray machines to farmers in Satchand RD Block. The distribution held earlier today, aims to enhance farming efficiency, reduce cultivation costs, and bolster overall agricultural output in the district.

The event is marked by enthusiasm and optimism was graced by several dignitaries, including Dakshin Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Dipak Datta, MLA Mailafru Mog and social worker Dipayan Chowdhury. Addressing the gathering, officials emphasized the government’s commitment to equipping farmers with modern agricultural machinery, ensuring sustainable progress in the sector.

“If the government helps farmers use advanced technology in their farming, then the state’s agricultural sector can make incredible progress,” said MLA Mog.

Echoing similar sentiments, social worker Chowdhury stated, “Such assistance projects carry a positive message not only for the farmers but for the entire society.”

Sabhadipati Datta highlighted the broader impact of the distribution, saying, “This project will increase interest in farming among farmers. Besides, such initiatives will play an important role in making agriculture a profitable profession among the youth as well.”

The atmosphere at the event was one of gratitude and excitement, with farmers expressing their appreciation for the new equipment. Many voiced their confidence that these tools would significantly ease their workload and contribute to higher productivity.

With the government’s continued focus on agricultural development, such projects reinforce a positive trajectory for the block’s farming community, ensuring both growth and sustainability in the years to come.
