Agartala, 10th September 2025: In preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, Madhupur Police Station organized a community meeting involving local club members, social workers and concerned citizens. The gathering aimed to promote awareness and ensure peaceful celebrations throughout the area.
The meeting was attended by Antara Sarkar Deb, MLA of the Kamalasagar constituency; IPS officer Bikash Sinde, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Bishalgarh; Debajit Chatterjee, OC of Madhupur Police Station; and Mithun Bhowmik, in-charge of the Madhupur Power department, among others.
During the session, MLA Antara Sarkar Deb emphasized the importance of legal compliance and urged all clubs and Puja committees to remain vigilant against any form of disorder during the festivities. She called for responsible conduct to maintain harmony in the community.
OC Debajit Chatterjee addressed various legal aspects related to Puja preparations, including the collection of donations. He firmly stated that forced collection of funds would not be tolerated, and no vehicles should be stopped on the road for such purposes. He urged all clubs and Puja organizers to operate within legal boundaries and avoid the use of loud sound systems or any activities that violate public order.
The administration warned that strict action would be taken against any unlawful behavior during the celebrations. Additionally, OC Chatterjee reminded all clubs to collect their approval forms from Madhupur Police Station within the stipulated time to ensure smooth coordination.
