BY TC News Desk

Agartala: June 30. In a shocking incident that unfolded near the North Gate area of Agartala, a man was forcefully abducted by unidentified miscreants.

The incident took place as the individual was traveling towards Radhanagar on a scooty bearing the registration number TR-06D-4917. Suddenly, a red-colored car approached and came to a halt in front of the scooty. The miscreants inside the car swiftly coerced the person from the scooty into their vehicle, snatching the keys to the scooty before speeding away from the scene.

Several eyewitnesses were present and immediately took note of the miscreants’ car registration number. They promptly shared this crucial information with a traffic police officer who happened to be present at the spot. However, in a perplexing turn of events, the traffic police officer, later on, denied receiving any such information, claiming that no car number was provided to him. Furthermore, it was revealed that the officer was not on duty at the time of the incident, as his assigned shift had concluded at 2:30 PM.

Subsequently, another traffic policeman, taking charge of the area after 2:30 PM, was briefed about the responsibilities by the preceding officer. It was during this exchange that the previous officer, who had been present during the incident, shared the car number with his successor. Surprisingly, the new traffic police officer professed no knowledge of the incident, emphasizing that he had not been informed about it. Meanwhile, the local police were alerted and swiftly dispatched to the location following information provided by the eyewitnesses.

In a commendable display of efficiency, the police from West Agartala police station promptly initiated an investigation into the incident. Within a remarkable span of 30 minutes, they managed to locate and rescue the abducted person, identified as Shyamal Deb, a resident of the Jambura area in Khowai. Despite the successful rescue operation, the motive behind Shyamal Deb’s abduction remains unknown. The police are actively working towards unraveling the reasons behind this shocking incident.
