Agartala, 11th March 2024: In a distressing incident, an elderly woman, Gita Deb, sought refuge at Teliamura Police Station after allegedly being brutally attacked by her intoxicated son, Ruptanu Deb, who is a professional driver residing in the Kalitila area.
According to the victim’s sister, who spoke to authorities, Ruptanu has been known for returning home in an intoxicated state, posing a threat to the safety of his family. The situation escalated when his mother was reportedly subjected to severe physical abuse during his recent episode of intoxication.
The horrifying incident came to light when concerned neighbors heard Gita’s screams, prompting them to alert her sister. Acting swiftly, the sister arrived at the scene, discovering her in a bloody and battered state. In a bid to ensure her safety, the sister immediately transported Gita Deb to Teliamura Police Station, seeking refuge and justice.
