Agartala, 11th January 2025: A nonagenarian pedestrian and a motorcyclist were injured in a road accident at Rashtarmatha area in Bishalgarh today. Both victims are currently undergoing treatment at Hapania Hospital.
Reportedly, the nonagenarian pedestrian Dhirendra Debnath (90) was returning home to Adarsha Colony from a local kirtan when he was struck by a motorcycle driven by Yaga Debbarma. The collision caused both the motorcyclist and the pedestrian to fall to the ground.
Eyewitnesses reported that both individuals sustained serious injuries. Residents at the scene immediately alerted the fire service, whose personnel swiftly arrived and transported the injured to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital. Due to the severity of their injuries, both were later transferred to Hapania Hospital for further treatment.
