Notorious thief caught red-handed, cash and jewelry recovered

Agartala, 2nd November 2024:    A notorious thief was caught red-handed while attempting to steal from a house in the Rajbari Durgapur area. The police recovered cash and jewelry from the thief, bringing relief to the local residents.

According to reports, lawyer Sahim Uddin, a resident of Rajbari Durgapur had gone to the Tongi Bari area with his family around seven in the evening yesterday. Upon returning home, he witnessed a thief fleeing the premises by breaking through the roof of the house.

The commotion caused by the family’s screams and shouts alerted the neighbors, who quickly mobilized and apprehended the thief. The suspect was then handed over to Dharmanagar Police Station through the efforts of a local resident named Uttam.

The swift actions of the community and the prompt intervention by the police have been widely praised. The recovery of the stolen cash and jewelry has brought a sense of security back to the neighborhood, which has been on edge due to recent theft incidents.
