Agartala, 31st May 2024: In a significant breakthrough in the fight against narcotics, the Tripura Police, in collaboration with the Intelligence Department of North Tripura district, achieved remarkable success as acting on a tip-off , the police arrested Helal Uddin, a notorious figure in the local drug trade, during an operation in Bhagyapur.
The arrest took place in Ward No. 5 of Bhagyapur GP. Uddin, who was apprehended while riding a bike and dressed in white clothes, was found in possession of brown sugar concealed in two soap boxes. This discovery led to his immediate arrest, and an investigation under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act has been initiated against him.
Helal Uddin had been under the radar of the authorities for some time. He was reportedly engaged in the sale of drug paraphernalia in Bhagyapur and its neighboring areas.
