Agartala, July 30, 2023: In the state of Tripura, allegations of outsiders attempting to exploit reserved quotas have been on the rise in recent days. Adding to the tension, a youth was arrested on Friday by the local police at the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) Medium, raising concerns about the infiltration of non-residents seeking to secure positions allocated for the state’s youth.
To address the matter, NSUI state President Samrat Roy and his team have been proactive in voicing their concerns to the authorities. Over the past month, they have been submitting deputations to various officials, including the SDM of Sadar sub-division and the Superintendent of Police of the West district, urging them to take strict action against those trying to bypass the quota system.
In response to the mounting tensions, Roy disclosed that evidence has been provided to the local police and authorities to substantiate their claims. He also emphasized that the issue goes beyond the PRTC and that various irregular activities have been carried out, utilizing voter ID cards, Aadhar cards, and other means to circumvent regulations.
The NSUI state president has now issued a warning to outsiders who may attempt to enter Shalbagan on July 31, as the state’s students and youth plan to mobilize and prevent their entry. The situation remains highly charged, and authorities are closely monitoring developments to prevent any further escalation of tensions.
