Agartala, 16th July 2024:  Since late Monday night, patients and their families at the Unakoti District Hospital in Kailashahar have been enduring severe hardship due to a disruption in the hospital’s electricity service. The outage has affected every ward, causing significant distress among those receiving care.

The lack of electricity has led to unbearable conditions, with patients shivering due to the extreme heat. The situation is particularly dire in the pediatric and surgery wards, where there are insufficient fans to provide relief. Many families have resorted to bringing fans from home, but these efforts have been futile without a power supply.

In their desperation, the families of patients have reached out to the media to voice their complaints and seek immediate action. “We are suffering tremendously. Our loved ones are already in pain, and this situation is making it worse,” said one family member.

The hospital administration has yet to provide a clear timeline for when the electricity issue will be resolved, leaving patients and their families in a state of uncertainty and distress.
