PM Modi launches portal for developed India; Tripura Governor praises initiative

Agartala, December 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Developed India @2047 portal on Monday, a platform to share ideas and innovations for achieving the vision of a developed India by the 100th anniversary of independence. The Prime Minister also interacted with Vice-Chancellors and Deans of all universities in the country through a virtual meeting, where he outlined the challenges and opportunities for the education sector in the 21st century.

The live program of the Prime Minister was broadcast at the Raj Bhavan in Agartala, where Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Vice-Chancellors, Directors, teachers and students of various universities and educational institutions were present. The Governor praised the Prime Minister’s initiative and urged the teaching community to play a vital role in shaping the new generation of students as patriotic and innovative citizens. He also stressed on the need for practical implementation of various educational issues and highlighted Tripura’s potential as an education hub.

After the Prime Minister’s speech, a multi-sector workshop and exchange of views on the idea of a developed India was held at the Rajya Bhavan, moderated by Tripura Central University Vice-Chancellor Gangaprasad Prasain. Several eminent academicians, such as NIT Agartala Dean Professor Swapan Bhowmik, Tripura Triple IT Director Abhay Kumar, Tripura University Economics Professor Indranil Bhowmik, NIT Agartala Professor Suman Dev, National Forensic Science University Assistant Professor Arpan Datta, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University Priyanshu Borthakur and others, participated in the discussion. Students of various educational institutions also shared their views on various topics, such as income for all, work-oriented education, environmental protection, industrialization, and cyber security.
