Agartala, 24th May 2025:  The Bishalgarh police successfully recovered a stolen motorcycle following a prompt investigation, demonstrating their efficiency in tackling vehicle theft cases.

It is reported that a Pulsar bike bearing registration number TR07A9137 was stolen late night of May 21 last from the residence of Billal Miah in Dhwajnagar under Bishalgarh police station. The theft was reported by the victim’s family the following morning prompting Bishalgarh police station’s Second Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kapil Pal to launch an immediate probe into the case.

As part of the investigation, police authorities alerted various locations along the India-Bangladesh border, suspecting an attempt to smuggle the vehicle. However, the gang of thieves abandoned the stolen bike in a dense forest near Harishnagar Tea Garden in Kamalasagar assembly constituency after failing to transport it across the border.

This afternoon, acting on a confidential tip-off, police retrieved the bike from the forest and brought it back to the station. Additional District Superintendent of Police Rajib Sutradhar (Sepahijala District), Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dulal Datta and Bishalgarh Police Station OC Sanjit Sen visited Noukaghat, an area witnessing frequent bike thefts.

In a separate incident, two days ago, tourist Akash Das from the Madhya Brajapur area fell victim to similar theft. His brother Liton Das’ Pulsar bike was stolen from Noukaghat by the same gang. District police continue their investigation, aiming to recover more stolen vehicles and curb rising thefts in the region.

Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to prevent such crimes.
