MP Biplab Deb slams CPI(M) over Maoist encounter criticism, labels party ‘Anti-National’

Date:

Agartala, May 23: Former Tripura Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday lashed out at the opposition CPI(M) for criticizing the central government regarding the recent security operation in Chhattisgarh that resulted in the death of 27 Maoists.

In a video statement, Deb, who currently serves as the Lok Sabha member from Tripura West, accused the CPI(M) of playing a “negative role” whenever the government took action against unlawful activities. He termed the party “anti-national,” alleging that it consistently opposes initiatives aimed at tackling extremist forces.

Highlighting the operation, Deb noted that the 27 Maoists killed in the encounter included their General Secretary, Nambala Kesavarao. He urged the public to recognize what he called the “true face” of CPI(M), accusing the Left party of backing Naxals responsible for attacks on civilians, politicians, and security personnel.

The BJP leader also criticized CPI(M) for its past actions, recalling incidents in West Bengal where, according to him, the party allegedly supported Pakistan during ‘Operation Sindoor.’ “Their political stance has repeatedly aligned with Pakistan and China. A party that undermines national interest has no right to seek public support,” Deb asserted.
