Agartala, 12th June 2025:   Madhupur Police Station staff successfully intercepted a drug transport operation based on a secret tip-off last night. Around 10 pm, authorities seized a Maruti Suzuki vehicle bearing registration number TR03J-0422 near the forested area adjacent to the Madhupur Electric Office, while en route to Kamalasagar.

As police personnel approached, the driver fled the scene leaving behind the vehicle which was later found to be carrying approximately 51 kg of dried marijuana with an estimated market value of Rs 5 lakh.

Madhupur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Debajit Chatterjee confirmed that the bust was made possible through confidential intelligence. While the driver remains at large, authorities are hopeful that further investigation using the vehicle registration details will lead to the swift identification and arrest of both the driver and the owner of the contraband.

Over recent weeks, Madhupur Police Station has recorded notable success in cracking down on offenses under the NDPS Act, with officials vowing to continue their rigorous anti-narcotics operations.

Meanwhile, sources indicate that the seized vehicle belongs to a youth from Miapara area, Kamalasagar Kasba. A case has been registered against him, and investigations are underway.
