Agartala, 8th April 2024:  Former TIPRA Motha Chairman and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Monday lambasted the alliance between the CPIM and the Congress party in Tripura, attributing it to the stagnation of Congress in the state. His remarks come amidst growing discontent over the political scenario in the state.

In an election rally held in Khumulwng on Monday afternoon, Debbarman declared his commitment to fighting for the people’s development till his last breath, condemning any form of deception. He recounted the frustration of his previous electoral defeat against the CPIM, blaming the entrenched alliance between the CPM and Congress for Congress’s diminishing influence in Tripura.

Expressing his disillusionment, Debbarman mocked the spectacle of wrestling matches in Kerala juxtaposed with the unlikely camaraderie between CPIM and Congress in Tripura. He anticipated a significant exodus of Congress leaders and activists to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Highlighting the plight of Congress workers, Debbarman alleged that their employment opportunities were contingent upon their allegiance to the CPM in the past, warning against further collaboration with the CPIM. He urged Congress members to refrain from supporting the CPIM and emphasized the necessity of a BJP-led government for the advancement of Tripura.

Denouncing what he perceived as a smear campaign against the Raj family by the CPIM and Congress, Debbarman asserted the growing political consciousness among the people of Tripura. He claimed that his support stemmed not from financial inducements but from his dedication to public service.

The rally served as a platform for Debbarman to rally support for his cause, decrying the entrenched political alliances that have marginalized the Congress in Tripura and signaling a potential shift in the state’s political scenario.
