Agartala, 9th January 2025: Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy today criticized the opposition, specifically the Congress and the Left Front, for their continuous disrespect towards the Constitution.

A workshop on Constitution Pride Day was held on Thursday at Agartala’s Nazrul Kalakshetra, with an aim to promote awareness and respect for the Indian Constitution. The event was inaugurated by Rajiv Bhattacharjee, Member of Parliament, with the presence of Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy, who is in charge of Constitution Pride Day activities, along with several other dignitaries.

Minister Singha Roy said, “January 26 is not only Republic Day but also Constitution Day, and it is celebrated every year with due dignity. Babasaheb Ambedkar is the leader of this Constitution.” He emphasized the importance of honoring the Constitution, claiming that without respecting it, the state and country cannot progress.

Minister Roy also highlighted that the BJP state unit has planned a series of programs leading up to January 25 as part of the Pride Day campaign.

He criticized the ongoing propaganda aimed at disrespecting the Constitution and urged the public to recognize and reject these tendencies. “The only way for the nation to move forward is by making people aware of the importance of the Constitution and ensuring its respect,” he remarked.

The workshop and subsequent programs aim to educate the people, especially through outreach in educational institutions and communities, to foster a deeper understanding and respect for the Constitution. The initiative is seen as a critical step in strengthening the democratic fabric of the nation and reinforcing the values enshrined by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
