Preparatory meeting at Dharmanagar ahead of Governor’s visit

Agartala, 21st July 2026;   In view of Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu’s scheduled visit to Dharmanagar on July 24 for the Ulto Rath (Return Rath Yatra) celebrations, a crucial preparatory meeting was convened on Wednesday at the Dharmanagar Municipal Council conference hall. The Governor will preside as chief guest and distribute prizes to winners of various competitions organized during the festival.

The meeting focused on ensuring smooth and successful execution of the programme. Detailed discussions were held on security arrangements, traffic management, supply of drinking water, uninterrupted electricity, healthcare facilities, fire safety, sanitation, and guest reception. Each department was instructed to discharge its responsibilities with utmost diligence.

Officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS), Municipal Council, Health Department, Power Department, Police, Fire Services, Information and Cultural Affairs, and the Rath Yatra Celebration Committee attended the session. All municipal councillors were also present.

Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty emphasized the importance of coordination among departments to ensure the programme remains peaceful, orderly, and successful.

It is noteworthy that on July 24, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu will personally hand over awards to winners of competitions held during the Rath Yatra festivities. Administrative activity across Dharmanagar has already intensified in anticipation of his visit.
