Public Outcry Over Employee Absenteeism at Bishalgarh SDM Office

Date:

Agartala, 2nd June 2026:    Public dissatisfaction has surfaced over the absence of a large number of employees at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office in Bishalgarh, despite government regulations requiring staff to be present by 9:30 AM on working days.

According to allegations, Tuesday marked the reopening of offices following an extended holiday period. However, even by 10:00 AM, many employees had reportedly not arrived at their workplaces, causing inconvenience to members of the public who had come to the office for various official purposes.

Local residents claimed that the failure of government employees to report to duty on time was disrupting public services. Several visitors were seen waiting for long periods as they awaited the arrival of the concerned staff members.

The incident has sparked frustration and resentment among the public, with many calling on the administration to investigate the matter and take appropriate action to ensure accountability and the smooth delivery of public services.
