Agartala, 19th November 2025: Concerns have resurfaced over the functioning of the Youth Welfare and Sports Department in Sabroom subdivision, with allegations that the office fails to open on time. This morning, the department’s main gate remained locked well past the scheduled hours.
Local residents claimed the office is supposed to open before 10 a.m., yet on this day the lock was only removed at 10:40 a.m. by a Group-D staff member. During that period, several service-seekers and members of the public were left waiting outside.
Complaints of irregularities during office hours are not new. For months, locals have alleged absenteeism, late arrivals, and indifference among staff, with little corrective action from departmental authorities.
Residents argue that such negligence disrupts routine operations and increases public hardship in accessing government services. They have urged higher authorities to intervene and restore discipline and accountability in the department’s work culture.
