Agartala, January 16, 2023: Launching e-Rupee Payment System at Civil Secretariat here, Tribal Welfare minister Rampada Jamatia on Monday said that the e-Rupee system has been introduced in the state to make payment of boarding house stipend easier and faster.
Speaking at the event, Jamatia said, “e-Rupee payment system for payment of boarding house stipend has been introduced today in our state for the first time in the country. As a result, today a new history has been written for the state. The Prime Minister of the country has launched various digital systems including cashless transactions, paperless administration across the country to make India corruption free. As part of this, e-Rupee payment system has been launched today. The e-Rupee payment system is a transparent system which is completely safe and easy.
In the first phase, about 31 thousand families of the state will be connected with this system. Besides, the students will get the opportunity to gain proper knowledge about the Digitana technology system from the school level.
Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Revenue Department Principal Secretary Puneet Agarwal, Education Department Secretary Sharadindu Chowdhury, Industry and Commerce Department Secretary Abhishek Chandra and other officials of the People’s Welfare Department were present on the occasion.
