Date:

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 7th February 2024:   Hundreds of electricity workers in Sabroom have gone on an indefinite strike from Tuesday, demanding their unpaid salaries for the last four months. The workers are employed by FEDCO, a private company that provides electricity service in the area.

According to one of the workers, they have been repeatedly asking the project manager of FEDCO to pay their dues, but to no avail. The project manager had assured them that they would receive their salaries within a week, but that deadline has passed without any payment. The workers said that they are facing financial hardships and cannot afford to work without getting paid.

The workers have staged a protest outside the FEDCO office, holding placards and shouting slogans. They have threatened to continue their strike until their arrears are cleared. They have also appealed to the state government and the local administration to intervene in the matter and ensure that their rights are protected.
