Sabroom police recovers 8 stolen laptops, three held at Sabroom

Agartala, March 22: Sabroom police station staff achieved great success in recovering eight stolen laptops and arrested three youths while the masterminds in connection to the thefts are still absconding.

Reportedly, a group of thieves broke the lock of laptop cupboard of the Dolbari High School and stole nine laptops. The estimated market value of these laptops are around Rs 3 lakh.

In a press conference at Sabroom police station here on Wednesday evening, OC Jayanta Dey said that there had been incidents of drug smuggling including theft of rubber for quite some time.

Acting on tip-off, the entire police team rushed to the area to investigate. Today, after arresting a young man named Ratan Nama (22), the police recovered eight laptops from the house of Sajal Nama and Jhulan Nama on the basis of his mobile phone.

However, police arrested Chandan Nama (34), and Bikash Debnath (32). The OC also said that the main masterminds of this incident, Sajal Nama, Jhulan Nama, and Shankar Roy are still absconding.

A case under 457/380 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused persons. This group is at the root of all the thefts and drug dealing incidents taking place in Sabroom.

He thanked the local people for their cooperation in recovering the laptops today.
