Agartala, August 30, 2023: A mock drill of disaster response exercise took place within the premises of Manu Class 12 English Medium School, situated in the Satchand Block of the South Tripura district.
The exercise garnered the participation of officials including Sabroom SDM Bidhan Chandra Roy, Fire Department Officer Ranjan Bhowmik, Jagdish Debbarma, NDRF Inspector Ajit Kumar, Nakul Pal, and Ratan Das, both Deputy Collectors representing the Sabroom Sub-Divisional administration. Also in attendance were Naik Subedar Pintu Das from the 9th Battalion of TSR and Deputy Director Krishnapada Pal, who represented the District Magistrate’s office.
This disaster response exercise focused on equipping the school’s students with essential skills for emergency situations, particularly in the event of an earthquake. Practical drills were conducted to prepare the students for rescuing individuals during crises.
SDM Bidhan Chandra Roy, addressing the participants, emphasized the significance of continued training programs like this. He underscored that such initiatives enhance the team’s efficiency in handling disaster situations under adverse conditions, thereby contributing to the safety and well-being of the community.
