Agartala, July 24: As part of the ongoing ‘Shikkha Saptah’ celebrations, a 7-day event was inaugurated at Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ HS School in the capital city. The event marks the fourth anniversary of the National Education Policy. Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar graced the occasion, emphasizing the importance of holistic education beyond textbooks.
During the event, a tree-planting program was also conducted on the school premises. Mayor Majumdar highlighted the significance of tree planting for maintaining ecological balance and urged everyone to contribute by planting saplings in honor of their mothers.
The Education Department’s initiative to create anti-drug awareness led to human bonding programs being organized in front of schools across the state. Higher Education Department Director NC Sharma participated in the program at Bodhjung School in the capital. He explained that the third day of the 7-day education week is dedicated to sports activities, and the focus this year is on addressing drug addiction among youth.
Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ HS School also hosted a human bonding program, where both students and teachers actively participated. The collective effort aims to foster a sense of community and resilience against substance abuse.
As the state rallies together, these human bonding programs serve as a powerful reminder that education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms—it encompasses values, awareness, and a commitment to a healthier future for our youth.
