Agartala, 7th August 2025: Tripura experienced normal rainfall during July 2025, with rain recorded on 26 days, according to the latest report from the Meteorological Department in Agartala.
The report highlighted variations in the intensity of the monsoon throughout the month. The monsoon remained vigorous on two days, active on four days, normal on thirteen days, and weak on twelve days. Quantitatively, the state received 449.9 mm of rainfall during July, compared to the normal monthly average of 379.8 mm. This indicates a positive departure of 18 percent.
From the beginning of the monsoon season until July 31—which marks the midpoint of the season—Tripura has received a cumulative rainfall of 850.9 mm. This figure is slightly higher than the normal seasonal value of 805.7 mm, reflecting an overall excess of 6 percent.
Among the state’s individual rainfall stations, Mohanbhog in Sepahijala district recorded the highest total rainfall for July at 825.6 mm. The highest single-day rainfall was recorded at Belonia in South Tripura, where 295.0 mm of rain fell on July 9.
District-wise, Sepahijala received the highest monthly rainfall, measuring 579.1 mm, which represents a substantial 47 percent above the norm. In contrast, Unakoti district recorded the lowest rainfall for the month, with just 225.4 mm—a deficit of 34 percent.
Regarding temperature, the highest maximum temperature of the month was recorded at Agartala Airport, where the mercury touched 36.1°C on July 23. The average mean maximum temperature for the month stood at 32.6°C, which is 0.5°C above the normal range.
The data from the Meteorological Department indicates that despite notable variations in rainfall across different districts, the overall monsoon activity in Tripura remained within normal parameters during July.
