Agartala, March 14: In a significant development on Thursday afternoon, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury of the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, along with the Transport and Tourism Departments, participated in a high-level review meeting at the conference hall of the Jirania SDM’s office.
The meeting was attended by officials from various line departments under the Jirania sub-division. Discussions primarily revolved around the progress and challenges faced by different departments operating across various Panchayats and Village Committee areas, including the Jirania Block under the Jirania Nagar Panchayat, Ranirbazar Municipal Council, and Jirania Block.
Minister Chowdhury emphasized the need for accelerated developmental works across various blocks under the Jirania sub-division. He urged public representatives and administrative officials to collaborate effectively and ensure timely execution of ongoing projects without any negligence.
Addressing the officials, Minister Chowdhury stressed the importance of building modern infrastructure and implementing government projects aimed at enhancing the standard of living for the people of Jirania sub-division.
Furthermore, he provided insights into the overall socio-economic situation of the sub-division, highlighting achievements and ongoing initiatives in various public welfare projects and plans for the fiscal year 2024-25.
The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to establishing transparent, accountable, and welfare-oriented governance, aimed at providing quality services to the citizens. He underscored the importance of adhering to the election manifesto promises and maintaining continuity in developmental efforts.
Additionally, Minister Chowdhury mentioned the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing the need for uninterrupted progress in government developmental works while adhering to the Model Code of Conduct.
Key issues discussed in the meeting included the progress of road infrastructure projects, widening of national highways, electricity supply, drinking water provision, health services, and the public distribution system.
Notable attendees at the meeting included Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shanti Ranjan Chakma, Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate Animesh Dhar, and officials from various line departments.
