Agartala, June 26, 2023: Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday felicitated 750 students who passed the Higher Secondary examination in 2022-23 academic year from 10 HS schools under Majlishpur assembly constituency at Gitanjali Hall in Ranirbazar.
While speaking at the felicitation ceremony, Chowdhury said that it is not enough to just take care of yourself, you should continue with the mentality of doing something good for the society and it will benefit society and country.
He said that students are the future of tomorrow. The whole society looks up to them. The present age is the age of competition. In order to survive in this competitive age, having knowledge about everything is absolutely necessary. There is no substitute for hard work to achieve success in life. A successful person has to face many challenges to move forward. Not only studies, besides studies, sports, physical exercise etc. should be given special attention.
Addressing the students, he further said that the elders of the society should be respected. Parents should be careful not to be neglected in their old age. In a word, studying, becoming established in life, along with all this, you have to make yourself a real person. Nothing comes easy when it comes to getting established in life. For that you have to walk a long way, have to work hard. One should not set one’s goal in life only to become a doctor or an engineer.
He said, all students have talent. Only a little hard work reveals that talent. “So, if you can’t do anything in one attempt, you should try again without losing morale. You have to make your way of thinking life-oriented. You have to conquer everything with your own merit. You have to establish yourself as a good citizen in the society”, Chowdhury added.
He also said, “As a good citizen of the society, everyone has some responsibility to keep the society transparent. It should be observed properly. These meritorious students have brought glory to their parents, schools and the entire region across the state. Overcoming many obstacles and adversities, they have succeeded in the great test of their lives. This small arrangement of mine today is to celebrate their struggle and share their happiness and wish them good luck for the future.”
On the occasion of the day, Chowdhury gave certificates, bouquets of flowers, diaries and pens to the students to congratulate them for successfully passing the higher secondary examination.
He said that it is his firm belief that the students felicitated in today’s ceremony will take a firm pledge to be well-educated in higher education with new hope and engage in the service of the country and the state as enlightened people. Apart from education, they will develop themselves as enlightened people by excelling in sports. They will always remember the people and teachers who contributed to their education and good results.
