Agartala, 24th January 2026:   If we want a corruption-free society, then quality education is absolutely necessary, and real success comes when living, learning and activities work together.

This was said by Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath while addressing the Silver Jubilee celebration of Synod Foundation School at Lefunga in West District today.

The Minister said that this is the silver jubilee of Synod Foundation, marking a journey of 25 glorious years dedicated to education, discipline and holistic development.

“A silver jubilee is not merely a symbol of perseverance, but of values and vision. Today, as we look back, we remember the founders and visionaries who dreamed of an institution where education would not be confined to textbooks alone, but would cultivate character, compassion, moral values and social responsibility,” he said.

The Minister said that this journey would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of the teachers of this institution, the true architects of its success.

He also informed that the teachers here have gone beyond their roles as educators to become mentors, guides and role models.

“As a guardian, always remember that if we want a corruption-free society, then quality education is absolutely necessary. Over the past 25 years, this school has not only imparted education but has also promoted unity, inclusiveness and social harmony, refining the rich cultural diversity of the world. Dear students, today when I look at you, I do not just see students sitting in rows. I see scientists, artists, teachers, doctors, athletes, leaders and innovators of tomorrow. My dear students, many of you think that success means only scoring high marks. Some of you think success means only being good at sports, music or art. But let me tell you something very important. Always remember that real success comes when living, learning and activities work together. Life is like a notebook,” he said.

The Minister said that life is like a notebook. Two pages—the first page and the last page—are already written by God, while the middle pages are empty, and we have to fill them with love and unity.

“This is very important to remember. Studies are not only about exams and marksheets. Studies teach you how to think, how to question, how to solve problems and how to face challenges confidently. And my dear students, you should never say, ‘I am weak in studies.’ Say instead, ‘I am learning and I will improve.’ Remember that slow progress is still progress. Swami Vivekananda correctly said that all power is within you and you can do anything that pleases you. He also advocated an education system through which one can stand on one’s own feet—Atmanirbhar, self-sufficient,” said the Minister.

He said that activities should teach teamwork, discipline, leadership, confidence and time management.

“When you play, you learn how to win with humility and lose with courage. When you perform on stage, you learn to overcome fear. When you participate, you discover hidden talents within you. Life is not about choosing between books or the playground. A sharp mind and a healthy body together create a strong future. Do not be afraid of failure. Do not give up because of one bad result. Every great person you admire once sat in a classroom just like you. Believe in yourself, respect your teachers, support your friends, dream big and work honestly. Your future is not written by luck; it is written by effort,” he said.
