TIPRA Motha’s crucial meeting held; Party not to step back an inch, says Pradyot

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, May 27, 2023: TIPRA Motha was established in ADC two years back. Since then it has been organizing continuous agitations for various demands including ‘Greater Tipraland’. But the movement is not getting any kind of response.

Even though it did not do well in the last assembly elections, it has snatched the place of the main opposition party from the CPIM. Later Pradyot announced various times that the interlocutors would come to the state to fulfill the constitutional rights. But the interlocutor did not come to the state. Several ADC bills went to the Governor but passed. But Pradyot and party representatives could not meet the Governor on Friday. So the party supremo Pradyot wants to change the contours of the movement in frustration.

On Saturday, TIPRA Motha supremo and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarman held a meeting with MDCs, party MLAs and all district and block level leaders. Debbarman took the decision after consulting the party leaders in the meeting.

In the next 25-30 days, TIPRA Motha, YTF, TWF, primary level, central level and core committee will be fully constituted. And in the coming days, the demand for ‘Greater Tipraland’ will take the field with demands for constitutional rights, passage of Customary Law Bill, election of village councils and Kokborok written in Roman script, he said. He also said, now is the time to step out of the house. The party will go to the people. Pradyot said that he will not step back an inch.
