Agartala, January 28: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha donated an ambulance to the Trinayani organization, a local social group, from his constituency development fund on Sunday and highlighted the various achievements of the state and central governments. The Chief Minister said that the government was working for the development and welfare of the people, irrespective of their political affiliations.
The Chief Minister said that the government had implemented various schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana to provide houses and cooking gas to the poor. He said that the government had also increased the per capita income of the state and boosted the export trade with Bangladesh. He said that the government was trying to resolve some issues with Delhi and expressed confidence that the future of Tripura was bright.
The Chief Minister also praised the role of clubs and social organizations in earning the trust of the people and said that the government would be able to focus more on development if they worked properly. He said that the government had improved the communication system in the state and expanded the railway services. He said that the double engine government, referring to the BJP-led governments at the state and the center, had made development possible at a faster pace.
He said that the ‘Maitri Setu’ at Sabroom, which would connect Tripura with Bangladesh, would be opened soon and that it would make Sabroom the gateway to Southeast Asia. He said that this would create employment opportunities for the youth in the state and that government jobs were not the only solution. He said that the state had attracted investors from outside and that the government was facilitating their ventures.
The event was also attended by Assembly’s Chief Whip Kalyani Saha Roy, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder and other dignitaries, who joined the Chief Minister in donating the ambulance and waving the green flag. The Chief Minister also interacted with the members of the Trinayani organization and appreciated their work.
