Agartala, 2nd April 2026: Ahead of the April 12 polls for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), Director General of Police Anurag conducted a detailed review of security arrangements in Khowai and Dhalai districts to ensure smooth and peaceful voting.
The review meeting was held at the Khowai District Superintendent of Police’s office and was attended by senior officials, including SPs from both districts and commandants of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) units deployed in the region.
Speaking to the media, the DGP stated that comprehensive preparations have already been put in place for the upcoming elections. The meeting focused on assessing current law and order conditions, strengthening policing strategies, and identifying any additional measures needed to maintain peace before, during, and after the polling process.
He emphasized that adequate security personnel have been deployed across both districts and that the situation is being closely monitored through regular reviews. The police administration is also holding continuous coordination meetings to ensure readiness at all levels.
The DGP added that his visit aimed to evaluate ground-level arrangements and operational efficiency. He assured that necessary steps would be taken promptly to address any gaps, ensuring that candidates can campaign freely and that voters can participate in the election without fear or disruption.
