Tripura Marks 12th Foundation Day of Child Protection and Rights Commission

Agartala, 30th November 2025:   The 12th Foundation Day of the Tripura State Commission for Protection of Child Rights was celebrated today at Sukanta Academy Auditorium. The event was inaugurated by Dipak Majumdar, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA.

Speaking on the occasion, Majumdar emphasized the importance of extending the benefits of central and state government schemes for child and women protection to every household. He urged families to ensure safety measures for children at home and called for increased social awareness on these issues. He also congratulated the Commission for its various initiatives in safeguarding child rights.

Jhurna Debbarma, Chairperson of the Tripura State Commission for Women, addressed the gathering, highlighting the need for everyone to be responsible not only for their own children but for other children as well. She urged society to be vigilant and proactive in preventing child marriage.

The event was also attended by Jayanti Debbarma, Chairperson of the Tripura State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, and the Deputy Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, among others.

During the ceremony, the state honored two outstanding students, Jyotsna Akhtar and Arshia Das. Special awards were also given to differently-abled students who excelled in their secondary and higher secondary examinations. Additionally, Shubham Biswas, head of the Swapna Foundation, was recognized for his significant contributions to social work.
