Agartala, 2nd November 2025 :  In a bid to foster a culture of preventive healthcare, Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College and Hospital has rolled out a series of subsidized health check-up packages aimed at enhancing public health awareness and providing quality medical services at minimal cost. The initiative, which aligns with the timeless adage “health is wealth,” is being hailed as a progressive step toward building a healthier society.

Under the new scheme, the hospital’s Outpatient Department (OPD) offers consultations with specialist doctors from Monday to Saturday between 9 AM and 12 PM for just Rs 10. In addition to affordable consultations, patients can access discounted diagnostic tests, primary health screenings, and medications. A full-body check-up is also available at a significantly reduced rate, making comprehensive healthcare accessible to low- and middle-income families.

What sets this initiative apart is its holistic approach. Each health package includes free medical advice and personalized guidance on maintaining wellness, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to cultivating a preventive health culture rather than merely offering diagnostic services.

In a society where many delay medical attention until symptoms become severe, the hospital’s message is clear: “Prevention is the best cure.” Timely health screenings not only help avert diseases but also mitigate future risks, ensuring safety for individuals and their communities.

Local residents have welcomed the initiative, with many describing it as transformative. “Such services at such low costs truly bring hope into our lives,” said one beneficiary. From rural villagers to urban dwellers, people across social strata are benefiting from the program.

Tripura Santiniketan Medical College and Hospital’s initiative stands as a model of social responsibility, demonstrating that meaningful healthcare reform is not just about service delivery—it’s about empowering communities to lead healthier, more informed lives.
