Tripura to hosts 7th ‘Purvottar Yuva Utsav’ to showcase North East’s talent

Agartala, February 24: The state of Tripura is hosting the 7th Purvottar Yuva Utsav, a four-day youth festival that aims to promote the culture, art and talent of the North Eastern region. The festival was inaugurated on February 26 at the Purbasha premises in Agartala, the state capital, said Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Tinku Roy on Saturday.

The festival will feature various cultural and literary events, such as dance, music, drama, quiz, debate and painting, at different venues across the city, including Purbasha, Nazrul Kalakshetra, Agartala Town Hall and Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. More than 500 participants from eight states of the region – Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura – are taking part in the festival.

The festival will conclude on February 29 with a grand closing ceremony at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, where the state Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and other ministers will be present. The winners of various competitions will be felicitated and awarded with prizes and certificates.

Minister Tinku Roy said that the festival is an opportunity to showcase the rich and diverse culture of the North East and to foster a spirit of unity and brotherhood among the youth. He also appealed to the people of Tripura to attend the festival and encourage the participants. He said that the department is ready to successfully complete the 7th Purvottar Yuva Utsav.
