Agartala, 21st December 2025: A wave of shock spread across the area after the body of a truck driver was found at a temporary camp near Sekerkot Railway Station in the Kamalasagar constituency.
According to reports, the deceased, identified as Lafasu Mog, a married young man from Jagbandhu Para, Gandacherra, Dhala District, had been working on the IOCL project in the area for the past month.
On Saturday evening, after completing his work, Lafasu Mog parked his truck at the temporary camp, had dinner with his colleagues, and went to sleep. The next morning, when other truck drivers woke up to get ready for work, they noticed that Lafasu Mog was late. Attempting to wake him, they discovered that he was unresponsive and not breathing. Realizing he had passed away, they immediately informed their employer, who then contacted the Amtali police station.
Police from Amtali arrived at the scene on Sunday afternoon. Family members of Lafasu Mog also rushed to the site and were heartbroken upon seeing him lying dead in bed. The police subsequently recovered the body and sent it to Hapania Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
The cause of Lafasu Mog’s death remains unclear at this time. Authorities expect the post-mortem report to reveal the exact cause. According to police sources, his body will be handed over to his family after the examination.
Amtali police have registered an unnatural death case and have begun a formal investigation into the incident.
