Agartala, 11th August 2025: The Valedictory Session of the Sanskrit Week Celebration was held with grandeur and fervour today at the Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus, Agartala. The programme commenced with a Sanskrit Awareness Rally which started from the University campus, proceeded to the Fishery College, and returned to the campus, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and Sanskrit enthusiasts.
The Valedictory Session was presided over by Prof. Makhlesh Kumar, Director of the Ekalavya Campus. Prof. Sipra Roy, Former Professor of Tripura Central University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Shankarnath Tiwari, Associate Professor of Tripura Central University, attended as the Guest of Honour.
During the ceremony, winners of various Sanskrit literary competitive events conducted throughout the Sanskrit Week were felicitated for their outstanding performances. In addition, eminent Sanskrit scholars from Tripura were honoured for their invaluable and timeless contributions towards the promotion and preservation of the Sanskrit language and literature in the Northeastern region.
The week-long celebration was coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Umesh Chandra Mishra, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Vyakaran. His dedicated efforts, along with the active support of faculty members, students, and the local community, ensured the success of the event.
The Sanskrit Week Celebration at the Ekalavya Campus not only fostered academic interest in the language but also inspired the younger generation to take pride in India’s rich cultural heritage. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective resolve to continue working for the enrichment of Sanskrit studies.
