Women corporators and elderly mothers tie rakhi to Mayor

Agartala, August 31, 2023: Mayor Dipak Majumder received rakhi from women corporators of Agartala Municipal Corporation and mothers of Barjala old age home on Thursday.

The corporators and the mayor-in-council members visited the mayor’s office and tied rakhis on his wrist. The Mayor thanked them for their gesture and blessed them. He said that he felt honoured to be tied rakhi by the mothers.

He added that Rakhi Bandhan symbolises the spiritual bond between brothers and sisters. The sisters prayed for their brothers’ well-being and the brothers vowed to protect their sisters.
