Congress chief spokesperson criticises Modi-Shah

Date:

Responding to statement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Chhattisgarh that there was no AIIMS in the country before the (Narendra) Modi government came to power in the country, Maharashtra Congress chief spokesperson Atul Londhe remarked on Tuesday that Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are good at telling lies.

Exposing lies in Shah’s statement, he said that Shah does not know that the first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru started first AIIMS in the country in 1953 in Delhi and even today it is number one, he claimed.

While exposing lies of Minister Shah and BJP, the Congress leader read out the list of AIIMS in the country and said that after AIIMS in Delhi, AIIMS has been opened in Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh, Patna, Bhopal, Raipur and Rae Bareli.

These AIIMS were built before the BJP came to power in Delhi in 2014 under the leadership of Narendra Modi, he clarified.

Along with AIIMS, the foundations of IIM, DRDO, IIT were also laid by Pandit Nehru and the country stood on it, he said.

Modi-Shah have been trying to mislead people by telling lies during the election campaign, he alleged and said that people do not trust them blindly.

Tearing into Modi’s claims that he has started AIIMS in Bihar and Kerala, he said that when people of two states checked to verify his claims and disproved Modi’s claim.

Criticising Modi-Shah further, Londhe added that they have nothing to do except to tell lies and gossip.
