The largest batch of Agniveervayu (AGV) was successfully inducted in Indian Air Force at Air Force Station (AFS) Tambaram and Airmen Training School (ATS) Belagavi.
This enrolment is a major landmark in the history of Indian Air Force (IAF) wherein more than 5,000 AGV trainees, including close to 300 women AGV, have been enrolled as the third batch.
A defence release on Wednesday said to transform these raw young men and women as battle ready and tech savvy Agniveervayu, 22 weeks of intense military training commenced from January one, 2024 at AFS Tambaram and ATS Belagavi.
After successful completion of ab-initio training, they would be posted to technical type training institutes where they will undergo specialized stream based training prior to their deployment at various field units.
